Actually Now that I've watched this twice. I'm not sure I'm convinced. I'll have to muse on this a bit more but something just doesn't sit right with me. What about you? What are your thoughts? Is this inevitable? Desirable? Missing something?
I think things are quite different in the primary school. I recently had ICT for my set homework task. We brainstormed how we might use a variey of ICTs at home.
ICT homework
One of the tasks was that they could txt me. At least half of my 8/9 year olds had never sent a text message before.
Our school is a fairly affluent one but at that age most kids don't need a cell phone as they get carted everywhere they need to go and their caregivers/parents are still pretty much always at their beck and call for transport organising etc.
